Isn't telling someone to 'Keep the Faith' some really bad advice?

Keep believing in something regardless of any evidence you see to the contrary? Keep your Faith no matter how irrational it is or how many holes have been poked in it?

It's a good thing that primitive man didn't have that attitude:

'Og! If we rub two sticks together we can make the fire that comes from the sky!'

'No, sorry Bill (that's a caveman name) I prefer to wait for the gods to bless us with magical lightning fire. I'm Keeping the Faith.'Isn't telling someone to 'Keep the Faith' some really bad advice?
It's a cop-out; to spit that out means you can't think of anything better to tell someone who is probably in need of much better advice.Isn't telling someone to 'Keep the Faith' some really bad advice?
Keep repeating big bang. It might actually sound serious one day.
i'm sure that sometimes it is bad advice
If telling someone to keep the faith is what keeps them able to function for one more day, then no, it's not bad advice. Is it bad advice when something more practical ought to be done? Yes. As for those cavemen.... one man did not just sit down one day and go, ';hmmm, maybe if I rub two sticks together I'll make that magical lightening fire that comes from the sky';. He got there by accident. So your example itself just got it's holes poked in it. What I'm trying to say here.... if they're not hurting you or your family or anyone else by telling someone to keep the faith ... why in the world do you care??? Why go so far to try and knock someone down whose not even bothering you?

My wish for you? That jsut once you see what a little faith can really do.

Love and light
It's good to have faith in Christ the Lord
not best to wait really...ppl can seek God and He will open the door to willing hearts... if ppl have faith then its great advice..
Faith isn't based on ignorance. It's based on experience. I have a lot of trouble starting a fire by rubbing two sticks together, but it works. Sometimes it's really hard to remember that we have an everlasting hope in Jesus Christ, but we do.
